Sample-backed
A figure, or a whole report, resting on at least one placeholder-tier input. It is published, labelled, and kept out of the search index and the API.
Why it matters
A figure is only as trustworthy as its weakest input, so provisionality propagates upward instead of being averaged away. Labelling it and withholding it from the index is the difference between publishing a provisional number and standing behind it.
Where this is applied
Every figure on the site is computed under one public formula, versioned and dated. Read the methodology
