Unlock basis
What a scheduled release date rests on: a lock that exists on a chain today, or a date a project has published about itself.
Why it matters
An on-chain lock carries its own release time in a field anyone can read from a node, and the protocol refuses to open it early. A project-declared date is a statement of intent, revisable by the party it constrains. Every other calendar draws the two as the same bar; the difference is the whole reason to trust one of them more.
