Annualised
A figure stated over a year but measured over less, and scaled up to fill it — a quarter's ledger multiplied by four.
Why it matters
It is an estimate of what a year would hold at the observed rate, not a year we walked, and the two are different claims about the same number. Most of the index carries the mark, because collection for most tokens is younger than a year; a figure without it is a year of our own readings, end to end.
